Simple pricing: you pay for the courses you take
There are no subscriptions. What you pay is based on the price of each course, set by the Instructional Designer who created it. Academies, Instructional Designers and instructors pay a small one-time fee to set up their role.
Who pays what
Application fees are one-time fees, paid only once to set up your role.
Learners & organizations
- Pay the price of each course or learning path you take. Free courses cost nothing.
- Classroom events are priced by the instructor and paid separately when you register.
- Each payment includes a bank processing fee (0.8% (max $5.00)), shown before you pay.
Academies
- Paid once when the academy is created.
- Seats are priced by the courses in the academy: one seat costs the total of its courses and learning paths.
- Courses added later are charged for the seats you already have.
Instructional Designers
- Paid once when you apply, to set up your designer role.
- Refunded in full if your application is not approved.
- You set your course prices and are paid from each sale.
Instructors
- Paid once when you apply, to set up your instructor role.
- Refunded in full if your application is not approved.
- You set the fee for your classroom events and are paid from each registration.
How courses are delivered
Instructional Designers create every course. The designer is paid the course price less the host fee shown below. Instructors teach the classroom events and charge separately for them.
Online
Self-paced or scheduled lessons taken entirely online. You pay the course price; the Instructional Designer is paid from it after the host fee.
Blended
Online lessons plus one or more in-person classroom events. You pay the course price, and any separately priced classroom session when you register for it.
Classroom only
In-person classroom events led by an instructor. The instructor sets the event fee, paid when you register.
How Xplor-Learning earns money
Xplor-Learning takes a platform fee of 15% on every course and classroom event sale. This fee maintains and improves the Xplor-Learning LMS. The rest of the price goes to the Instructional Designer or instructor. Some courses have a different platform fee agreed with their designer when the course was approved.

The processing fee covers the bank payment and is paid by the buyer on top of the price. It is never taken out of the designer's or instructor's share.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a subscription or monthly fee?
No. You pay for the courses and classroom events you take. Academies, Instructional Designers and instructors pay a one-time fee to set up their role, and nothing recurring.
When do Instructional Designers and instructors get paid?
Each sale's earning is held for 14 days to allow for refunds. Once your due balance reaches $25, it is paid through Stripe to your bank account.
What do academies pay for?
A one-time academy setup fee of $5, plus seats. One seat costs the total price of the courses and learning paths in the academy (a course already in one of its learning paths is counted once). Seats are never reassigned once used. Courses added later are charged for the seats you already have.
What about refunds?
If a refund is granted, everything you paid, including the processing fee, goes back to your bank account, and the designer's or instructor's earning for that sale is reversed. The $35 application fee is refunded in full if an Instructional Designer or instructor application is not approved.
Why is there a processing fee?
Payments are made by bank transfer through Stripe. The bank processing fee (0.8% (max $5.00)) is shown as its own line before you pay, so the designer or instructor receives their full share.
Can a course be free?
Yes. Instructional Designers can offer courses for free. Free courses have no platform fee and no processing fee.
